Fantastic talk last night at Eardisland Village Hall by Andrew McRobb of CPRE Herefordshire on the subject ‘Can our Rivers Survive?’. CPRE have done an amazing job raising awareness of the plight of our rivers and also very practically organising hundreds of citizen scientist volunteers to do river testing across the catchment which has enormously improved our collective understanding of the condition of the River Wye and its tributaries. Thank you to Andrew and all the citizen science volunteers. As Andrew says, what we need now is the political will to fix the pollution problem – and that’s what I can promise in North Herefordshire!
