I’ve signed to support the Manifesto for the Wye. In the face of government inaction, citizen scientists and river guardians have done an incredible job to highlight the ongoing pollution of our river and its devastating impact. The manifesto is calling on the UK and Wales governments to establish a single, cross-border approach to cleaning up the Wye. It includes:
- developing and implementing a Water Protection Zone to stop all forms of pollution;
- a Wye Recovery Fund to resource a fair and fast transition to river-friendly farming and nature-based solutions;
- strengthening regulations and resourcing the agencies to enforce against pollution;
- and importantly ensuring supermarket prices reward river-friendly farming and that consumers are empowered with honest labelling.

Restoring our rivers will be one of my top priorities if elected MP on 4th July, and I’m proud to support this manifesto to get our river cleaned up.
