What a fantastic day visiting two very different local initiatives serving our Herefordshire community.
There was such a buzz for the opening of the new St Michael’s Hospice – Hereford shop at Whitestone this morning! It was fantastic to see so many people there to support the great work the hospice does in our community. There’s a huge range of pre-loved and upcycled items – and a lovely cafe too – so do pop in to see for yourself if you’re in the area. Congratulations to all the staff and volunteers on the launch!
I then had the pleasure of visiting The Houghton Project – a not-for-profit social farm between Hereford and Leominster. They provide opportunities to learn a whole range of rural skills for people who may like some support and guidance to get involved. There were so many activities on offer to participants – food growing, woodwork and repairs, cider making, caring for the animals, and more – and all in a beautiful setting. A big thank you to everyone for showing me around – and for the very kind gift of a bottle of their award-winning cider and perry! Well done to founder Tim and the team for building such a brilliant, inclusive project for the community.
