It was fascinating to visit Ben Andrews’ organic farm near Leominster this week and learn about the brilliant work he’s doing. We spoke about how farmers like Ben can grow great food and support local nature, the impact of flooding and a warming climate on Ben’s farm, and the importance of getting more Green MPs in Parliament to pressure government to provide proper support for farmers. It was amazing to see the results of Ben’s hard work to support wildlife on his farm alongside the great food he’s growing – skylarks were singing overhead and a charm of finches were flying nearby as we spoke. If elected as Green MP for North Herefordshire, I will push for proper support for farmers like Ben who are so important to our county and to the country.
